We suffer in Imagination than in reality
Hey, I have used a title from a quote by Seneca("we suffer more in imagination than in reality"-Seneca) with no particular reason other than a frank intention that extensively explains what I want to share with you. It paints a very vivid picture of my massage. Anyway, with no further ado let us get into it.
Let us face it we are always worrying, right? what will happen if I do not pass my exams? what if I do not get my diploma, my degree, or my Ph.D.? what will people say if I start a youtube channel? what will people say if I speak about this? what will people say I am not married and I am 35? just worry, worry, and more worry.
While it might be fair to say that worry is a part of life and there is no one out there who does not. But what is very evident is that it just that like it is just thoughts on our heads playing over and over. So what is my point?
Well as much as we always worry, sorry as much as we have to worry we should not let it dictate our way of thinking and more specifically our lives. while there is no life without worry you should not live in worry but rather live in reality so to speak.
How do you that is what you are asking? here is how, when you worry about whatever, ask yourself what is the worst that could happen? like if you are thinking of starting a youtube channel for example asks yourself what is the worst that could happen. is it that some random dude will say you are not good enough. Like identifying the worst-case scenario and being there at that moment. I know I sound a little crazy but that is actually what I mean live in that worst-case scenario in your head.
You will be surprised by how actually nobody gives 2 cents of what you do with your life. We have one life to live and one death to pass through which is inevitable at any time. but that not being my point my point being we should be actually worried if we are too worried sounds complicated. Listen you are not going to be able to solve all the problems so stop looking for a formula and start living the reality you have got, simple enough but how you execute is everything.
The key is not to worry for more than 20 seconds. In other words, let the worry work for you and not the other way around. It is there to show you what you can control and what you can not control. Needless to say what those you can control work on and what you can not you just let it to the gods or whoever you believe in.
As I close let me live you with a quote I live by. Ponder on it, put it on your desktop, on your phone's home screen, or wherever you can see it every day.
"Everything in moderation. Nothing in excess"
-Socrates
