5 GREAT MORNING HABITS

Hey, let us face it, If there is anything hard is creating a new habit, and if that was not enough sticking with this habit, is even harder right? If you have tried, are trying, or intend to form and adhere to some new habits you are at the right place.

I have compiled a list of 5-morning habits that have done wonders for me, and they might be for you too. Somebody might ask why the morning though? And the answer is because of the simple reason that human brains are fresh and energized in the morning.

It is said when you make great habits they will take care of you. Just keep in mind they are not tasks to be done they are habits to be made.

These habits will help you not only be able to have a happy, productive, and fulfilling day but also build a successful life out of small habits. So without any further ado let's get into it.

1. Waking up early

Are you a morning person or a night owl? These are the kind of questions we often hear people talk and discuss. We have labeled ourselves into two categories either an early rise or a night owl. Well, we might argue about this till the end of mankind but I tend to believe we become who we choose to become

This begs the question Are early risers better than night owls or vise vasa? Well, I will leave that up to you but consider this fact in life, you can never manage time, we all have the same time 24 hours for every one of us. You can only manage activities/tasks.

So what am I saying? As an early riser, I get to do my activities early in the day which I keep to a maximum of five this translates to having more productive time to spare. A former Nigerian president puts it this way " A man who has not accomplished his activities by 10 a.m. has wasted the day"

Like I said before, we can argue about waking up early until I do not know when, but one thing I can tell you for sure is that waking up early makes things happen.

2. DRINKING WATER

As much of a cliche as this sounds it is funny how we do not drink enough or any water at all. I know what you are thinking I do drink water so this habit checks.

Scientists insist that for a body to function at its optimum level we should be drinking at least 2 liters a day. Yeah, that's right are you still holding that notion that you drink water, I know I do not.

"Water is life" as they say I drink around 500ml which is equal to a glass of water just as I am off the bed and within minutes I feel energized jazzed up ready for my day. I do not want to glorify morning drinking water so try it yourself when you have just woken up drink a glass full of water oh and did I say it should be cold?

Surely if you have not been doing the habit feel free to start small say 300 ml or half a glass could work but make sure you are increasing the amount as time goes by. Coldwater in the morning can feel uninviting and unpleasant but it's the medicine you need for your day and life.

3. Bed-Making

I know what you are thinking like seriously "bed-making" How does this relate to having a productive, happy, fulfilling day, or life for that matter?

Think about it how good you feel when you come home to a made bed a good feeling I am sure. Bed-making may seem obviously useless and some might even argue even if I do not make the bed there's someone who will

What you have to know is it's not the activity that is the goal, it's the feeling and eventually telling your mind you are responsible.

Am I saying people who do not make their beds are not productive, or can not be happy with their day? Certainly not but what I am trying to tell you is what will happen if you decide to form this habit but like they say it is until you do it then you know. Still, in doubt, try it some time and experience it for yourself.

4. Planning for the day

Somebody who plans what to do is more likely to accomplish what he set out to do than somebody who wakes up and has no plans for the day.

There is a very interesting speaker who puts it this way plan for the fact that planning does not go according to plan.

You have to plan. In fact, the best way is to plan the day before or before you go to sleep, and in the morning you review what you want to tackle first.

Let me give you a secret when you have created your list and planned what to do. Tackle the task or activities that seem difficult first then follow through with the ones that seem easier This strategy is called "eating your frog" In other words it just means that if you tackle the activities/task that seems difficult you will feel energized to not only tackle the rest, but they will seem easier.
Just know people who know where they are going are more likely to get there than those who do not.

 5. Listening to music,

Music is not only therapeutic, it is a stress reliever, a mood booster, and an energy booster, to say the least.

Psychologists say music can make you do unimaginable things. I do not want to dwell much into that but here is the fact music, can give you energy especially your favorite kind of music.

I recommend when you are having your cup of coffee and going over your planned list of activities. If you fail to do any of these habits do not crucify yourself on the contrary, if you can manage half of what is in this post celebrate you are on the winning side.

Remember the road to a better you, is always under construction, no one is perfect but those who can manage themselves are ironically considered perfect.
