How to stop procrastinating
Hi there, Now more often than not we want to accomplish things right? it is in our minds day in and day out, we want to tackle it but we never seem to get the time, and even when we have the time to do it we can not do it. so we end up procrastinating.
Well, it is normal I experience this all the time but it's also a disease of some sort and it is bad the more you let it stay the more it takes hold of you. You end up at the end of the day or year wondering how did I not get to do that! and the cycle continues.
Here is a hack, if you want to stop procrastinating you have to look at the cause and the cause is because we are usually trying to be a perfectionist. When we want to do something but we want it to be perfect(if there was anything like that in the first place) that's when we start to procrastinate. For instance when I want to make a youtube video and I ask myself can I make it perfect? the answer is always going to be no! but when I ask myself can I make that video good? well, the answer is always yes.
Here is my point, when you want to do something don't aim for that perfect time, the perfect tools, when everything is going for you, and so forth. The trick is just to aim for 70%, not 100% and after all, there is nothing like perfect work anyway. There is also an advantage of going for 70%, those who do 70% of work five times and make it good are better in the long run than the person who has tackled only two tasks and gone for 100%.
So to summarise, the way to tackle procrastination best is, when that thought comes and tells you, "you don't have the time to make that work perfectly" lean in and say "I just want to make it good" and your response for this will always be on the affirmative.
